Long and thin, this modified version of a skinny ottertail is a versatile paddle that is great for soloing, style-paddling, as well as tandem and solo tripping. The Sliver is a great paddle for those who have a tendency towards underwater recovery strokes.
The thin and slightly stretched blade does not load the shoulder as much as wider paddles do; this helps to reduce fatigue, while still having ample volume to effectively propel the canoe.
Badger’s signature hand shaped transitional ridge (between the shaft and blade) allows for a strong backbone traveling well into the paddle blade. It then gradually tapers into the blade allowing for uniform flex towards the center. The ridge also creates a smooth flow of water around the blade on the surface allowing for a more smooth and fluid stroke.
All Forest Edition canoe paddles feature a unique engraving of an artistic ‘paddle tree,’ custom-matched to the paddle’s blade style and the species of wood it was crafted from—a small reminder of the forest your paddle could help grow.
Please note: the ‘paddle tree’ artwork reflects the hardwood used to build your paddle, not necessarily the species of trees planted on your behalf. Most reforestation efforts will involve coniferous, softwood, or other native species to replenish the forests.
One Tree Planted reforestation projects encompass the globe, including regions in Canada (including British Colombia, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Quebec), the USA, Mexico, Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.
